Join us on Sunday 7th December 2025 for our brand new Tinsel Trot event raising money for St Margaret’s Hospice.
We’ve teamed up with St Margaret’s hospice to bring you a festive event this Christmas for the whole family. Race HQ will be on Castle Green in Taunton with 2 running races starting from there; a 5k Santa race and a 1k Elf race.
If you’re looking to join us for the Santa race, you’ll be given a Santa hat to run in, if you’re running in the Elf race then you’ll be provided with an elf hat!
The Routes
3k Santa Race
- Starting on Castle Green
- Through Castle Bow,
- Join the road on North Street and down into Bridge Street
- Turn around and come back up North Street and up East Street
- Turning around at the Almshouse and back down East Street into Corporation Street.
- It’s then back into Castle Green ready for the second part…
- Runners will go down the bridge into Goodland Gardens,
- Back out onto North Street,
- Through Castle Bow
- Back onto Castle Green for the finish!
All runners in the 3k race must be over 11 years old – anyone running this aged under 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult (1 adult is permitted to be responsible for a maximum of 2 running children).
3k Santa Race begins at 10:30am
1k Elf Race

The 1k race will be aimed mostly at children. All children under 11 will enter the 1k Elf race and must be accompanied by a responsible adult (1 adult must be responsible for only 1 running child).
